Jonathan Ross "J.R." Charlton is currently conducting independent
research and development of probabilistic asset pricing models and resource allocation models. He has recently
(April 2009) presented his models to the Los Alamos National Laboratory Center for Non-Linear Studies 2009
Risk Symposium. His latest working paper can be accessed on SSRN at: http://ssrn.com/abstract=1396503. Prior to 2009, Jonathan was an Associate of Corporate Finance, Strategy and Operations Research at Booz and Company
(formerly Booz Allen Hamilton). He holds a Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Finance from
Indiana University's Kelley School of Business.
Prior to joining Booz Allen Hamilton in October of 2006, Jonathan
worked for Lockheed Martin Information Technology as an Extended Air Defense Simulations (EADSIM) scenario developer and operations
research analyst. Before joining Lockheed in July of 2005, Jonathan worked for Northrop Grumman as a Joint Conflict and Tactical
Simulations (JCATS), Intelligence and Electronic Warfare Tactical Proficiency Trainer (IEWTPT) scenario developer and operator
for the Digital Training Office (DTO) at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, beginning in September of 2004.
Jonathan
began his Defense Industry career in the United States Army by enlisting as an Observer-Trainer, Single and All-Source Analyst,
Low-Level Arabic and German Voice Interceptor/Linguist. He helped found, plan, and construct the Joint Intelligence Combat
Training Center at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. He also served as the training and translation liaison for the 304th Military Intelligence
Battalion and provided direct translation for over 1000 foreign officers for the International Military Student Office. Jonathan
was honorably discharged from the United States Army on September 19, 2004 after suffering medical disability, and is a special
disabled veteran of the Gulf War Era.
Among his military awards are the Army Achievement Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster,
the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the National Defense Service
Medal, The Army Good Conduct Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon. He has been awarded the Northrop Grumman 2004 Defense Mission
Systems Team Customer Appreciation Award, and has been nominated for the Military Operations Research Society (MORS) Barchi
Prize twice for his work on risk-based resource allocation and capabilities based assessments (CBAs) at the 76th MORS Symposium
at the US Coast Guard Academy and on the set-coverage optimization programmes for sensor deployment which he briefed at the
74th MORS Symposium at the United States Air Force Academy in June of 2006.
Jonathan Charlton holds a MBA and MS Finance
from Indiana University, a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts from Excelsior College, an Associate of Arts in Arabic from
the Defense Language Institute, and an International Baccalaureate from the Atlanta International School.
